Rhinoplasty - Hispanic Case #14020
Before
After
This young Hispanic man had sustained severe crush injury to his nose when a large metal frame fell onto him. He had originally undergone a Rhinoplasty to repair his nasal fracture and deformity, but it was not successful. Patient was complaining of having a "crooked nose" and inability to breathe well through his nose.He was referred to Dr. Younai for Rhinoplasty revision surgery in Los Angeles, having had failed previous nose surgery. Dr. Sean Younai, who is a Board-Certified Plastic & Reconstructive Surgeon performed revision nose reconstructive surgery using temporal fascia and diced cartilage graft to rebuild his nasal dorsum. With this rhinoplasty technique the crushed cartilage was formed and placed in a temporal fascia sheet, in some ways like rolling a cigarette. This was then placed over his nose and shaped to revise his crooked nose. At the same time his nasal airway was opened so he could breathe better. Even though he still has swelling and inflammation after nasal reconstruction surgery, he is very grateful for having achieved a straight nose.
